General Engineering Supervisor’s Development Course

About Course

What is a GES?

They design mines, develop new technology, and create mining equipment to efficiently and safely extract minerals or metals. They often work with a team of other scientists and engineers. Mining engineers can specialise in a particular mineral or metal, such as copper or diamonds.

What is the role of a mining engineer?

Mining engineers plan and supervise the processes involved with extracting minerals from mines. They are often heavily involved in developing new mines, including assessing whether a mineral deposit can be profitably mined and also researching new techniques and processes to improve the efficiency and safety of mines.

Purpose:

As the General Engineering Supervisor, you need to oversee the maintenance and operations of equipment and systems according to sound engineering practices and equipment specifications and assist the Engineer with design and general supervision of engineering activities in support of the maintenance process.

You will be required to contribute and assist the mining team with a variety of other tasks in the mining structure from moving men, material, and ore to the construction areas.

The focus for this role will be to:

Let DTS indicate the finer details for you as a G.E.S. Be constant and up-to-date with the daily tasks….as we say….Back to Basic.
