Purpose:

This Assessment requires learners to provide risk-based primary emergency care/first aid as an advanced first responder in the workplace.

You will be required to achieve the following outcomes:

• Sustain an advanced level of preparedness to deal with emergencies in the workplace.
• Assess and manage multiple injured emergency scenes/disasters in the workplace.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body and the specific disorders and diseases relating to each system.
• Demonstrate primary emergency life support for adults in the workplace.
• Explain and manage shock.
• Conduct a secondary assessment of the sick or injured person(s) and maintain appropriate primary emergency care.
